2016 Shop Small Win Big!

The Fennimore Area Chamber of Commerce marketing committee thanks everyone who supported local businesses in the “2016 Shop Small – Win Big!” Shop Local promotion and Fennimore bucks giveaway. This is the third year Fennimore has participated in American Express Shop Small holiday promotion. Keeping money in our community helps keep create and maintain jobs which helps keep our community thriving.
2016 Prize Winners:
A total of $1250 was paid out in Fennimore Bucks from the promotion. Winners of the FACC Shop Small-Win Big shopping promotion include:
Grand Prize winner – Brayden Mahr of Fennimore who won $300 in Fennimore Bucks.
Nineteen $50 winners include: Gayle Anderson, Shawna Bausch, Jane Chulafish, Mary J. Freymiller, Joan Gunther, Maxine Furstenberg, Lacquine Klug, Elaine Larson, Tonia McCollough, Jeannie Millin, Patricia Payson, Marlyn Redfern, Julie Rutkowski, Tracy Scott, Carl Zaluski all from Fennimore. Out of town shoppers who won prizes include: Rosa Ropers from Waunakee, Nola Childs from Mt. Hope, Angie Cornell from Boscobel, and Todd Abing from Richland Center.

This year’s holiday promotion included holiday trees or window displays in businesses. Thank you to all the businesses that put up holiday decorations throughout the Shop Small – Win Big promotion. Several of those businesses turned the holiday trees into Giving Trees, encouraging employees and customers to donate warm mittens, hats, and other clothing for those in need in the Fennimore area.
Fennimore Chamber’s 41st Annual Christmas Creations Craft Show
Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 26 and plan to attend one of the largest and best quality craft shows in the Tri-State area. Two gyms will be full of vendors and high quality homemade items perfect for holiday decorating and unique shopping items. Christmas Creations Craft Show will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fennimore Memorial building (860 Lincoln Avenue) and Fennimore Elementary School (860 Madison Street), please use side door entrance. All vendor space is full for this year with a waiting list of vendors. The Chamber thanks long time craft show veteran, Jeri Novinska, for heading this committee.
Scholastic Book Fair
Dwight Parker Library will hold their popular Scholastic Book Fair Saturday, Nov 26 in the front hall of the Memorial building. A large assortment of books will be available for all ages along with smaller items perfect for filling stockings. Your support of this book fair allows the library to trade out books for our local library. So the book fair is a win-win for everyone.
Legion Auxiliary Offers Food
Auxiliary members will offer food in the Legion annex. During the morning they will offer biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, coffee and beverages. The lunch menu includes barbeque sandwiches, hot dogs and homemade pie. They will be serving starting at 8 am through mid afternoon.
