Blue Ribbon Committee -- Lincoln Avenue Street Project Update

April 3, 2007

Submitted by Linda Parrish 608-822-3599

On April 2 a public meeting was held by the WisDOT project engineer Jeremy Krachey. The purpose of the meeting was to share information on the construction project and to answer questions from those in attendance.

WisDOT Project Engineer Jeremy Krachey – There is no changes from information shared at the March 5 public meeting. The project started two weeks ahead of the original start date. All construction should be completed by November 15.

Question: Why is there so much dust on Jefferson Street and what can be done about it?
Answer:
(A-1 Construction)
This Street has heavy traffic; due to rain truck tires are muddy. If the dirt was pushed over to the side of the street or watered down it would only create a lot of mud. Trucks will be asked to slow down to help alleviate the dust.
Question: How long until there will be parking access for residents living on Lincoln Avenue?
Answer:
(A-1 Construction)
It will be several weeks before residents living on Lincoln Avenue will be able to park in their driveways. Weather permitting the construction crew will be taking out concrete starting April 3. Underground utilities will then be put in place.
Question: How long will residents be without utilities?
Answer:
(A-1 Construction)
We don’t anticipate anyone being without electric, water/sewer and natural gas for more than three hours. No overnight outage of utilities is expected.

The next public meeting will be held Monday, April 16 at the Fennimore Memorial Building. The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. in an effort to meet the needs of business owners and residents.

To talk with the Jeremy Krachey the number for the field office is 608-822-3992.
