Blue Ribbon Committee -- Lincoln Avenue Street Project Update

March 26, 2007

Submitted by Linda Parrish 608-822-3599

The public should use the official detour routes and stay away from construction areas. Everyone's cooperation is encouraged during the construction process and will help keep the project on schedule. A-1 Excavating warns drivers who travel through construction areas risk damage to vehicles and are fully liable for any damages.

April 26-30 - A-1 Excavating, Inc. will continue work on the 16th Street storm sewer work. With cooperation from area residents and the weather, A-1 Excavating plans to have underground work in place and gravel at the intersections of 16th and Madison and 16th and Monroe Streets by Friday, March 30. Property owners that would like additional concrete or blacktop work done on their private driveways during the construction process are encouraged to contact the concrete or black top contractors directly for quotes. Companies working with A-1 Excavating are Iverson Construction doing black top (Mike Benz 608-568-3433) and Trierweiler Construction for concrete work (Roger Trierweiler 715-387-8451).

Monday, April 2 is the date set for a Fennimore Construction Project Public Meeting. The meeting will be held at the Fennimore Memorial Building starting at 2 p.m. Currently plans are to hold public meetings every two weeks; the time may need to be changed to meet general needs of attendees. Business owners and residents affected by the road construction project are encouraged to attend to be updated on the status of the project. The WiDOT Field office is located at 1030 Lincoln Avenue in the former Canterbury Garden location. Field office contact phone 608-822-3992.

Please refer to previous weekly updates for additional construction information or frequently asked questions. Copies of all information is also available at the Fennimore Memorial Building bulletin board in the front hallway.
