Blue Ribbon -- Lincoln Avenue 2007 Street Project
Construction Update

May 7, 2007

Submitted by Linda Parrish, Promotions Coordinator 608-822-3599

A-1 Excavating, Inc. continues work on South Lincoln Avenue. All underground utility work is now completed. Sub-grading from 16th Street south will be completed by Friday, May 11. A-1 will continue to place rock from 16th Street going north toward the 12th Street intersection.

Trierweiler Construction paving crew is now in Fennimore in preparation to start lying pavement starting the week of May 14. They will lay 24 ft of pavement in the center of the roadway starting at the south end of the project and will work north toward 12th Street. Their will still be deep drop off areas on each side of the pavement so the road will remain closed to traffic.

Once all pavement is completed Trierweiler Construction will continue work to finish off pavement. As reported in the March 26 weekly construction report any property owners that would like additional concrete or blacktop work done on their private driveways during the construction process are encouraged to contact the concrete or black top contractors directly for quotes. Companies working with A-1 Excavating are Iverson Construction doing black top (Mike Benz 608-568-3433) and Trierweiler Construction for concrete work (Roger Trierweiler 715-305-1946).

Traffic is reminded it is impossible to travel on South Lincoln Avenue; your cooperation will help keep the road construction project on schedule.

The next public meeting called by WisDOT project engineer Jeremy Krachey will be held Monday May 14. The meeting will be held at the Fennimore Memorial building 860 Lincoln Avenue starting at 5 p.m. This meeting is open to the public and especially those residents and businesses affected by the current portion of road construction.

Those having questions are encouraged to stop by the WisDOT field office located at 1030 Lincoln Avenue or call 608-822-3992.
