A-1 Excavating, Inc. has completed all underground utility work and sub-grading on south Lincoln Avenue. Trierweiler Construction paving crew will start putting down new pavement on Tuesday, May 15. Trierweiler will lay 24 ft of pavement in the center of the roadway starting at the south end of the project and will work north toward 12th Street. Approximately 5 hours after paving begins the crew will begin sawing concrete. The sawing must continue through the night, so there will be noise in residential areas.
Also keep in mind there will still be deep drop-off areas on each side of the pavement so the road will remain closed to traffic. Pavement will need to cure for at least one week before parking lane pavement will be put in place. Following that there will be another week before curb and gutter work begins. The next process will be installation of street lights and then landscape work will begin.
Garage Sale Shoppers are reminded it is impossible to travel on Lincoln Avenue from 12th Street to the south city limits. Shoppers should use alternate cross streets from 4th Street to 11th Street to reach garage sale locations. There will also be some work done this week to widen the intersection of 4th and Lincoln Avenue. Your continued cooperation will help keep the road construction project on schedule.
The next public meeting called by WisDOT project engineer Jeremy Krachey will be held Monday June 18 (note date change). The meeting will be held at the Fennimore Memorial building, 860 Lincoln Avenue, starting at 5 p.m. This meeting is open to the public and especially those residents and businesses affected by the current portion of road construction.
Residents who have questions in regard to driveway replacement and or changes should contact Project Engineer Jeremy Krachey by Friday, May 25. Krachey is available at the WisDOT field office located at 1030 Lincoln Avenue or call 608-822-3992.
