Submitted by Linda Parrish, Promotions Coordinator 608-822-3599, Toll Free 800-822-1131

Trierweiler Construction paving crew has completed pouring curb and gutter on Fennimore's south city limits to 12th Street. The construction crew will work this week on sidewalk and entries to driveways. A-I Excavating will then begin back filling in preparation for landscaping which will begin as soon as weather permits.

The City of Fennimore crews will complete some work this week on Madison and 16th Street. Curb and gutter was installed in this construction area last week so A-1 Excavating will now put in back fill and gravel in preparation for new pavement.

Trierweiler Construction will pour colored cross walks between 12th and 14th Street this week. As reported earlier colored cross walks will be installed throughout the business district.

At this time stage two of the road construction continues to stay on schedule. A-1 Excavating expects phase two of road construction to be completed by June 29 and open to traffic prior to the first week of July.

Mathy Construction is scheduled to begin stage three on Monday, July 9. However, if weather permits stage three may be moved ahead to begin the last week of June. Stage three will consist of grinding off road surface just east of the 12th and Lincoln Avenue intersection to Marsden Park Road. The detour route for stage three for Hwy 18 east bound traffic will be U. S Hwy 61 South to Cty Hwy E and Cty Hwy F and back to US Hwy 18. Local traffic will be able to use side streets to access business and residential areas on Fennimore's east side. Phase three is expected to last about 2½ weeks.

I continue to hear great compliments from city residents who praise crew members from A-1 Excavating for their cooperation and communication with local residents during this stage of the construction project.

It is extremely important traffic stay out of the construction area at all times. Tickets will be issued to drivers who are in construction areas. Matt Young, of A-1 Excavating Inc. reminds drivers they will be held liable to replacement costs for any damages done to the road construction area or construction equipment. Please help us spread the word when road construction signs indicate local traffic only they refer to the individuals who actually live on Lincoln Avenue or other streets directly affected by road construction. Your cooperation will help to keep the road project on schedule.

The next public meeting called by WisDOT project engineer Jeremy Krachey will be held Monday June 18 (note date change). The meeting will be held at the Fennimore Memorial building 860 Lincoln Avenue starting at 5 p.m. This meeting is open to the public and especially those residents and businesses affected by the current portion of road construction. Krachey is available at the WisDOT field office located at 1030 Lincoln Avenue or call 608-822-3992.
