Construction Work - Week of July 30
A-1 Excavating now has two crews working on underground work.
All Lincoln Avenue pavement between 4th and 12th Street will be removed this week.
Sidewalks on the west side of Lincoln Avenue between 8th and 12th Street will remain in place for most of August. Sidewalks on the east side of Lincoln Avenue from 4th to 12 will be removed this week.
- Please use caution when using sidewalks to enter front doors of businesses; there is a huge drop off at the edge of sidewalks.
- Businesses are prepared for back door access.
Parking
Two large public parking lots are available - St. Mary's Catholic Church lot at the junction of Jefferson and 9th Street and the Fennimore Elementary School parking lot (available until school starts) at the junctions of Madison and 8th Streets. Business owners and their employees are encouraged to park in parking lots and leave side streets and Jefferson and Madison Street for customers.
Signage
Blue Ribbon sign committee has installed bright green signs directing customers to Lincoln Avenue business locations. Please contact committee chair, Steve Lendosky if you have questions concerning signs (608-822-6111).
Stage Four Detour
12th and Washington Street will serve as the official detour route for all traffic during stage four of the road construction. The public should note this detour runs through a residential area. Keep in mind the speed limit for the detour route is 25 mph. Residents must keep in mind street-side parking will not be allowed along the 12th and Washington Street detour route; residents must park in their driveway or yard.
The next public meeting will be held Thursday, August 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fennimore Memorial building.
Note: the report is our best estimation and can be affected by weather or other items beyond our control.
