Construction Work - Week of August 10
A-1 Excavating has had several crews in town working on sanitary, water and storm sewer underground work. This has escalated the construction process, which has caused sidewalk removal much sooner than originally announced.
Starting the week of August 13 two A-1 Excavating crews will be working. They will continue to work on sanitary, water and storm sewer from 6th to 4th Street. Currently all underground work is completed up to East 7th Street.
The week of August 13 the grading crew will continue moving to the north putting the base in place. It is anticipated temporary access to some side streets may be available.
Sidewalks – Back or side door access is recommended to most businesses at this time.
- All sidewalks on the east side of stage four have been removed.
- Most sidewalks on the west side of stage four will be removed the week of August 13.
- Matt Olson /A-1 Excavating will contact businesses in the 1100 and 1200 block prior to removal of sidewalk.
- Hartig Pharmacy customers are encouraged to call 608-822-3601 for access information. Hartig will make home delivery on Tuesday and Thursday to customers who are elderly or disabled.
Mail order is also an option. Please call Hartig’s for details. The Fennimore Doll and Toy Museum is also offering access through their back door between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at times when side street access to Hartig’s becomes a problem.
