Blue Ribbon -- Lincoln Avenue 2007 Street Project
Construction Update

Construction Work - Through the end of September 2007
- Road work taking place the first week of September includes:
- A-1 Excavating should complete underground sanitary, water and storm sewer the week of September 10.
- A-1 Excavating grading crew will continue putting roadway base in place.
- Concrete crew should begin the week of September 17, this work will take approximately four to five weeks to complete.
- The center two lanes will be poured starting in the 1100 block moving north to 4th Street. The next order of concrete work to be done over the five week period is:
- Parking lanes
- Curb and gutter
- Sidewalks
- Landscaping
- Pavement gaps will be left at 4th and 8th Streets for cross traffic.
- A-1 Excavating asks for public cooperation during this time so no damage is done to new concrete.
- Intersections will not be blacktopped until all concrete work is completed.
Sidewalks - Back or side door access is recommended to most businesses at this time.
Madison Street Limited Parking
- Starting Sept. 4 traffic changes went into effect on Madison Street which passes by the Fennimore Elementary School. No parking will be allowed on the west side of Madison Street from Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Parking on the east side of Madison Street will not be affected.
- Local traffic is encouraged to use the official detour route of 12th and Washington Street to help ease the heavy traffic on Madison Street.
Public parking areas
- St. Mary's Parking lot at Jefferson and 9th Street
- North side of the Fennimore Fire and Rescue Building - parking will not be allowed near the Fire-Rescue Building. Absolutely NO parking on the East or South Side of Fire-Rescue Building.
- Business owners and their employees are asked to leave any side street parking and Madison Street open for customers.
- Some businesses will have "customer only" parking behind their business place, we ask you to please observe the signs.
- It is the business responsibility to install "Customer Only" parking signs.
Stage Four Detour
12th and Washington Street will serve as the official detour route for all traffic during stage four of the road construction. The public should note this detour runs through a residential area. Keep in mind the speed limit for the detour route is 25 mph. Residents must keep in mind street side parking will not be allowed along the 12th and Washington Street detour route; residents must park in their driveway or yard.
Public Road Construction Meeting
Jeremy Krachey, WisDOT Project Engineer indicated there is no need for additional public meetings. Anyone with questions should contact him at the local field office or by phone.
