Workers will continue to work on new sidewalks on Lincoln Avenue all week. The side road intersections should be paved with asphalt this week if weather permits. If all goes well, street lighting could be complete by Oct 12. Business owners who have questions are encouraged to stop by the field office or to call Jeremy Krachey at 608-822-3992.
The Fennimore Blue Ribbon Committee is pleased to announce they will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony in anticipation of the reopening of Lincoln Avenue (Main Street).
The event will be held Thursday, Oct. 18 starting at 1 p.m. in front of Eagle Creek Inn. A brief program will be held including the presentation of the colors by Fennimore Legion Post 184, input from area legislators, WisDOT and Fennimore representatives. Music will be provided by students from Fennimore Schools.
The program will be followed by a social time with light snacks at Eagle Creek Inn. Those planning to attend are asked to please contact Promotions Coordinator, Linda Parrish, 822-3599 or promo@fennimore.com by Oct 15.
The stage four road construction area is expected to be completed and open to traffic within a week of the Oct. 18 ribbon cutting.
Road construction work on stage five of the project will still be taking place near the junctions of Lincoln Avenue and 4th Street. Stage five is expected to last 2½ to 3 weeks depending on weather conditions. Stage five road construction will be completed by Nov. 15.
